Dr. Dan Elbert grew up in the small farming community of Olivia, Minnesota. Dr. Elbert attended undergraduate at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. After graduation he went on to earn his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Midwestern University, Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine in Glendale, Arizona.
Dr. Elbert completed a three year podiatric surgical residency at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Following residency, he completed a one year foot and ankle reconstruction and limb salvage fellowship with The Reconstruction Institute at The Bellevue Hospital in Bellevue, Ohio.
Dr. Elbert is a fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon with a focus on foot, ankle and lower leg reconstruction including: Revision surgeries, total ankle joint replacement, patient specific custom 3D printed implants, pes planus (flatfoot) & pes cavus (high arch) reconstruction, complex deformity correction, lower extremity nerve release/decompression, diabetic and non-diabetic wound care with an emphasis on functional limb salvage and microsurgical orthoplastic surgery (lower extremity muscle and tissue flaps for wound coverage).
When not at work, Dr. Elbert enjoys spending time with his wife and two yorkies (Dale and Delilah). They can frequently be found winning big at Dave and Busters.
