Danny (Dong Hyun) Kim, Ph.D. graduated from Hallym University, South Korea (1991-1995) with Bachelor of Biomedical Science, received his Master of Science from Korea University, Seoul, South Korea (1995-1997) and finished PhD course at same school in 2006. He conducted Hematopoietic stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells research in Sam Sung Biomedical Institute from 2002 to 2007 as research fellow and postdoc. After completing a postdoctoral course in Pharmacology at New York Medical College, NY, he joined a faculty member in Physiology and Pharmacology at University of Toledo Medical College, Toledo, Ohio as Assistant Professor in 2009. Dr. Kim also joined academic affiliation with the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University, WV in 2012 as associate professor. He has mentored numerous graduate school students, medical students, and college students. Dr. Kim served as Referee/Reviewer for Professional Journals such as DNA and Cell Biology, Cell Proliferation, Stem Cells and Development, Yonsei Medical Journal as well as an Editorial Board for Journal of Diabetes & Metabolism from 2010.
Dr. Kim has extensive work experience in the field of stem cell biology and application, as it relates to stem cell therapy in chronic path-physiological disease states. His contributions to the field include therapeutic strategies to the culture and differentiation of human adult stem cells into many other cell types including adipocytes, chondrocytes, neurons, osteoblasts etc. His current research at NWO Stem Cure, LLC and the University of Toledo involves allograft/autograft use of human mesenchymal stem cells towards underlying disease conditions. He is also working on understanding the mechanisms involved in dysregulation of stem cell-derived adipocytes and their contributions to the development of obesity and metabolic syndromes. In addition, one of his research approaches represents a powerful tool to identify paradigm shifting approach for osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease and metabolic diseases. He has no doubt that the effect of stem cells and his developing drugs alone or in combination will have a potent stem cell therapeutic effect on many underlying diseases. Also, he has interest in stem cells therapy for autoimmune diseases, obesity, cardiovascular disease and Type II diabetes. Dr. Kim focuses in human mesenchymal stem cells from various sources including bone marrow, fat, synovial linings etc. He has numerous publications in adult stem cells field and over the last 13 years has focused research interest in mesenchymal stem cell.
Danny Kim, Ph.D. is Chair of Research and cofounder of NWO Stem Cure, LLC and Miracle Stem Cure, LLC. Dr. Kim and his team currently research herbal supplements and their combination effects on the stem cell as an equally efficacious yet safer alternative for arthritis and other inflammatory disorders, research applications of synthetic analogues and other small molecules to the mesenchymal stem cell for arthritis, osteoporosis and other musculoskeletal conditions and have grant applications to the National Institutes of Health.
